The facility's delivery will provide immediate capacity on Iron Mountain's proven 5.5-acre Navi Mumbai campus alongside operational facilities MUM-1 and MUM-2. Once live, this campus integration enables day-one access to an established ecosystem of 700+ customers, including nine Tier 1 carriers, over 200 ISPs, and all major cloud providers.
MUM-3 broke ground in 2026 with an expected phase I go-live in Q1 2028, with multiple phased releases thereafter. At total buildout, the facility is expected to be 85 MW. This phased approach enables organizations to establish an infrastructure presence immediately while maintaining the option to expand as business requirements grow. The facility supports flexible deployment models, including wholesale data halls for single-tenant requirements, build-to-suit configurations matching specific technical parameters, and custom specifications for unique workload profiles. Organizations can begin planning deployments now with Iron Mountain's infrastructure and interconnection teams to ensure space, power, and connectivity requirements are secured ahead of the 2027 delivery.
MUM-3 colocation will operate on Iron Mountain's 5.5-acre campus in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, alongside MUM-1 (2.3 MW) and MUM-2 (6.3 MW), creating a combined 93 MW integrated campus at full build. Organizations can distribute workloads across multiple facilities for resilience while maintaining unified network connectivity, shared security perimeters, and operational consistency. MUM-1 houses India's densest interconnection ecosystem with 700+ customers and access to all major cloud providers, enabling MUM-3 deployments to leverage this established network diversity from day one. The infrastructure accommodates varying power-density profiles from standard enterprise workloads to extreme densities associated with AI training and large-scale computing clusters, with build-to-suit configurations matching specific technical requirements.
MUM-3 colocation will implement the same comprehensive security and compliance framework proven across Iron Mountain's global data center portfolio. Physical security includes multiple layers of perimeter protection, 24/7/365 manned security, multi-factor authentication systems, biometric access controls, and comprehensive video surveillance. The facility will be built to Tier III standards and have independent SOC 1 and SOC 2 attestations validating security and availability controls. Planned compliance certifications include PCI DSS for payment card environments and TIA-942-B for telecommunications infrastructure.
