What is a ready-made retention schedule?

A Ready-Made Record Retention Schedule is a pre-built, turnkey, off the shelf records retention schedule that has a pre-defined taxonomy of record classes with country based retention suggestions. The record class taxonomy is based on proven practices from our extensive experience building retention schedules. Record classes include name, code, record examples and other descriptive information. Retention suggestions are derived from Iron Mountain's Legal Research Service which contains a database of curated citations that are managed by a global network of legal experts. The end result is a cost effective, easy to use prepackaged retention schedule that can be used immediately.

What is a Corporate Function Schedule

A Corporate Function Schedule is a record retention schedule that covers basic corporate business activities such as human resources, tax, legal, sales and marketing, etc. The Corporate Function Schedule is a great way to start building a sound records management program which can then be further refined using an industry specific schedule that addresses core business activities.

What is the annual update and when does it happen?

An annual update is a service included with a Standard Edition subscription. It occurs once every 12 months according to our publishing calendar for Ready-Made Retention Schedules. The update effectively supersedes the previous version and may include changes to record classes and retention suggestions. Changes to retention suggestions are based on any changes to the body of citations that are relevant for the Ready-Made Retention Schedule.

Where is our schedule hosted? What security is built into the Policy Center software and platform?

Policy Center Essential, Standard and Professional Editions are hosted in the same Iron Mountain cloud environment as the Enterprise Edition which is used by many of the world’s largest companies. Security protocols and technical environment details are available upon request; please contact a product representative for this information.
