What is Private Network Transport?

Private network transport delivers secure, dedicated point-to-point connectivity that's more reliable and predictable than public internet connections. At Iron Mountain Data Centers, we call our private network transport solution Virtual Cross Connects (VXCs). We provide a comprehensive suite of high-speed network services designed to meet your growing connectivity demands. Our rapidly deployable Layer 2 connectivity is available between our data centers, carrier hotels, strategic interconnection points, cloud providers, peering exchanges, and other data centers, all leveraging Iron Mountain's robust 100G network backbone.

Virtual Cross Connects (VXCs) are Layer 2 products that utilize Carrier Ethernet solutions to seamlessly transport traffic from the Meet-Me Room in one data center to any other partner facility. As you scale your data center footprint from single to multiple facilities, VXCs provide a quicker, easier, and more flexible solution compared to physical cross connects. Through our extensive data center ecosystem and SDN partnerships, you can deploy virtual connections to hundreds of locations worldwide.
