The demand for digital consular services has soared. Based on private sector customer experience, and following the Covid-19 pandemic, citizens now expect digital, straightforward and fast access to key identification certificates and rapid processing of passport and visa applications.
EU member states have the possibility to tap into the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) to help digitalise their consular and other public services. Available until 2026, the RFF enables consulates to cost-effectively accelerate the digitalisation of their services.

Iron Mountain has worked with consulates of some of the largest European countries to successfully digitalise their consular records and data management. Experience makes us uniquely positioned to handle large-scale digital transformation initiatives, driving process efficiencies while respecting critical security requirements and assisting organisations with change management support.
Across countries, we see similar issues in managing, accessing, and organising physical and digital records. Our unique heritage in successfully transforming archival materials from analogue to digital formats enables us to provide tailored consular services solutions.
