Iron Mountain has opened a new campus at its Rugby site in partnership with Creating Tomorrow College, helping young adults aged 18 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities move into paid employment. Expanding on existing programs in Lutterworth and Kettering, the initiative combines specialist education with supported work placements directly within a live operational environment. This hands-on model addresses a significant workforce gap, as only 4.8% of adults with learning disabilities are currently employed.
The partnership integrates practical workplace exposure into education while supporting Iron Mountain’s workforce planning and mentoring practices. "Too often, conversations about employing young people with special educational needs and disabilities are separated from conversations about business and workforce strategy. At Iron Mountain, we see them as an integral part of workplace inclusion," said Maria Torrent-March, Vice President of Warehousing and Logistics Europe at Iron Mountain.
