Phase 1 - Discover

Discover what information your organisation holds

The initial step is to comprehensively understand your organisation's information landscape. This involves identifying all personal information, including structured and unstructured data across various systems and storage locations. Understanding your regulatory obligations and implementing necessary controls is crucial for compliance.

Phase 2 - Unify

Unify your data and information

Once you've identified what records you need to keep, it's time to decide what to keep in physical storage and what to digitise. We identify, organise, and securely manage your records, laying the foundation for a streamlined digitisation process.

Instead of working in silos, your team can now find your information in an easily accessible, centralised, secure digital storage repository that’s compliant with the revised Australian Privacy Act. This approach mitigates risks from any unforeseen situations such as data breaches or loss of records, ensuring you remain compliant with mandatory retention period for personal information.

Phase 3 - Govern

Govern your data with confidence

Once you know what data and information you have, it’s essential to understand your information governance requirements under the updated Privacy Act. Organisations must develop a governance program and retention schedule, ensuring compliance with the new maximum and minimum retention periods.

Your data must be securely stored, compliant with the latest regulations, and regularly reviewed to ensure unnecessary information is defensibly destroyed once its retention period expires.
